Plagiarism and Scientific Misconduct Policy
The Journal of the College of Languages — University of Baghdad is committed to promoting the principles of academic integrity and scientific research ethics, in line with the instructions of Iraq's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and internationally recognized standards in scholarly publishing.
The journal considers all forms of scientific plagiarism, unlawful appropriation, or misuse of sources to be a violation of scientific research ethics and unacceptable conduct in the academic publishing process.
For this purpose, all research submitted for publication is subjected to electronic screening using approved similarity- and plagiarism-detection software, including Turnitin or its equivalent, prior to being referred for scientific peer review.
The journal reserves the right to reject any research with a high similarity ratio or proven to contain scientific plagiarism or undocumented use of others' sources. It also reserves the right to withdraw or delete published research from its electronic records if it is later proven to involve a violation of publishing ethics or intellectual property rights.
Authors' Responsibilities
The author or authors are committed to the following:
Submitting original scholarly work that has not been previously published.
Accurately documenting all sources and references used, according to the documentation style adopted by the journal.
Clearly indicating all direct and indirect quotations and ideas derived from the works of others.
Avoiding all forms of scientific plagiarism, including verbatim copying, undocumented paraphrasing, or unlawful use of scholarly content.
Disclosing any parts of the research previously published or submitted in other works, if applicable.
Any material quoted verbatim from previously published works — whether by the same author or other authors — must also be documented, placed within quotation marks, and its original source cited according to approved academic conventions.
The Journal of the College of Languages affirms that legal and ethical responsibility for the originality of the research and the integrity of its content rests entirely with the author or authors.
