الأدب الديواني، الذي يعالج عادةً موضوعات عميقة وعالمية مثل الحب، والطبيعة، والتصوف، يتطرق أحياناً إلى تفاصيل الحياة اليومية أيضا فقد تناول شعراء الأدب الديواني الأدوات المستعملة في الحياة اليومية بوصفها رمزا تارة، ومن منظور واقعي وتارةً أخرى فكان لهذه الأدوات تأثيراً واضحاً على الموضوعات والزخارف المستعملة في الأدب الديواني، كما قدّمت أدلة لفهم أسلوب الحياة في ذلك العصر، وبهذا تمكن القارئ من استيعاب الثقافة الاجتماعية للعصر الذي كُتب فيه الشعر، فضلا عن الرسالة التي أراد الشاعر إيصالها من خلال قصائده، ولأجل نقل مشاعرهم وأفكارهم إلى القراء، استعمل الشعراء أيضا تشبيهات مرتبطة بشكل وبنية الأشياء التي تناولوها وعند وصف الغرض من استعمال هذه الأشياء، أوضحوا كيف اكتسبت معانٍ جديدة عند ربطها بالمحبوبة، ومدى تشابهها بها، مستعملين لغة أدبية متميزة في أبياتهم وبهذا لا يكتسب القارئ معرفة فقط بالأشياء المستعملة في الحياة اليومية في ذلك العصر، بل أيضا بتركيبها وشكلها ودلالاتها الرمزية .
في هذه الدراسة، سيتم تحليل المصطلحات المتعلقة بالأدوات المستعملة في الحياة اليومية كما وردت في ديوان ياكيني، من خلال استقصاء الأبيات وشرح كل مصطلح على حدة، مع توضيح المعاني التي اكتسبتها هذه المصطلحات في سياق الأبيات.
