Abstract

Resumen

    Sotileza , localismo santandrino de sutileza , es la parte más fina del aparejo de pescar donde va el anzuelo. Es la obra maestro de José María de Pereda.Su ambiente , el Santander viejo, anterior al año 50,evocado emocionadamente - emociόn romántica contenida en los trazos sobrios y firmes de un naturalism psicolόgico y paisajista,el Santander que el autor confiesa poseer en el fondo de su corazόn,«y tenerlo esculpido en la memoria de tal suerte que ,a ojos cerrados,me atrevería a trazarle con todo su perímetro y sus calles, y el color de sus piedras, y el número, y los nombres, y hasta las caras de sus habitantes».Dentro de la grandeza primaria de las criaturas de Pereda, Sotileza , la protagonista, con su encanto enigmático,con sus rasgos Fuertes y femeninos a la vez,con su dinamismo y su bondad de alma,sin debilidades,atrae y sugestiona.Los personajes,el ambiente de marineros, y sobre todo el mar , con sus borrascas y sus calmas, mar para marineros, mar caminado y galopado por las barcazas de pesca, constituyen un poderoso cuadro de costumbres, cuyo resultante es un brioso paisaje oceánico, y cuyo espíritu parece encarnarse, esencialmente, en la ágil muchacha que da nombre a la novela.(1)

Abstract

   Sotileza, called locally from Santander of subtlety, is the thinnest part of the fishing tackle from going the hook. It is the master work of José María de Pereda. Its atmosphere, the Santander old, former 50 year, evoked emotionally - romantic emotion  contained in the strokes sober and strong of a psychological naturalism and landscape, the Santander which the author confesses to own at the bottom of his heart, "and have it sculpted in memory in such a way that, with eyes closed, I would draw you with its perimeter and streets»«, and the colour of its stone, and the number, and the names, and up to the faces of its inhabitants ". Within the primary grandeur of the creatures of Pereda, Sotileza, the protagonist, with its enigmatic, with his strong features and female charm at the same time, with its dynamism and its goodness of the soul, without weaknesses, attracts and suggest.

   Characters, the sailors, and especially the sea environment, with its storms and its calm sea for sailors, walked and galloped by fishing barges, sea constitute a powerful picture of customs, whose result is a spirited oceanic landscape, and whose spirit seems to incarnate, essentially, in the agile girl that gives its name to the novel.

    Ban Niazi Husni instructor at Baghdad University / College of languages - Spanish section. She holds a master's degree from the University of Baghdad. Has a number of research and translations in the Iraqi press and it has been issued recently book translator joint generation of 98 in Spain.
