Abstract

Bodas de sangre es una tragedia en verso del escritor Federico García Lorca escrita en 1932, y estrenada el 8 de marzo de 1933 en el teatro Beatriz de Madrid con gran éxito tanto en España como en Hispanoamérica. Fue llevada al cine por Carlos Saura en 1981. Es una producción poética y teatral que se centra en el análisis de un sentimiento trágico. Desde la vida y la muerte, a lo antiguo y lo moderno, en la manera de ver la tragedia. Todo ello enmarcado en un paisaje andaluz trágico y universal.

   El tema principal que se trata en este drama es la vida y la muerte. Pero de un modo arcano y ancestral, en la que figuran mitos, leyendas y paisajes que introducen al lector en un mundo de sombrías pasiones, que derivan en los celos, la persecución y en el trágico final: la Muerte. El amor se destaca como la única fuerza que puede vencer a la muerte.

   La obra recoge las costumbres de su tierra, que aún perduran. Y todo ello a través de objetos simbólicos, que enuncian la tragedia. Es constante en la obra de Lorca la obsesión por el puñal, el cuchillo y la navaja, que en Bodas de sangre atraen la fascinación y, a la vez, presagian la muerte.

Abstract:

   Blood Wedding is a tragedy in verse written by Federico García Lorca, 1932 and released on March 8th, 1933 in Madrid Beatriz theater with great success in both Spain and Latin America. It was made ​​into a film by Carlos Saura in 1981. It is a poetic and theatrical production that focuses on the analysis of a tragic sense. From life and death, old and modern, on the way to see the tragedy. All of this in a tragic and universal Andalusian landscape.

    The main issue discussed in this drama is life and death. But an arcane and ancient way, which include myths, legends and landscapes that introduce the reader to a world of dark passions that lead to jealousy, persecution and the tragic end: Death. Love stands out as the only force that can defeat death.

   The work includes the customs of their land, which still exist . And all through symbolic objects , which recognized the tragedy. It is constant in the work of Lorca 's obsession with the knife , the knife and the knife in Blood Wedding attract fascination and , in turn, portend death.

   The tragic real events referred to occurd on the July, 22nd, 1928 at Cortijo del Fraile, Nijar, Almería. Lorca met by the press, although the author Carmen de Burgos had written a novella about the same event titled Dagger carnations , which was also inspired by Federico. Blood Wedding is the first play of the "Andalusian trilogy" of Lorca.

   This research contains three parts, the first takles the playwright Federico García Lorca and the theme of the play Blood Wedding; the second part will present the structure of the play and its characters; the last part gives us the various symbols that contain the work.
