تتناول الدراسة الحالية أيديولوجيات الكتّاب تجاه العنف ضد النساء ،إذ تركز هذهِ الدراسة على تحليل روايات إنكليزية حول العنف ضد النساء لمعرفة مدى تأثر الكتّاب بجنسهم. كما تؤكد ايضًا على إظهار مدى انعكاس أيديولوجيات الكتّاب في اعمالهم،يؤثر الجنس على أيديولوجيات الجماعات ،لذلك عندما يناقش الكاتب قضية تتعلق بالجنس الآخر سيكون إمّا موضوعيًا وإمّا ذاتيًا فلذلك إعتمادً على درجة التأثير ،اي إن الجنس قد ترك أثرًا على افكاره وسلوكياته .قد يتم تداول حقيقة واحدة بشكل مختلف من قِبل كتّاب مختلفين إعتمادً على أيديولوجياتهم. تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى كشف ايديولوجيات الكتّاب الخفية القائمة على النوع الإجتماعي من خلال تحليل البنية الخطابية لرواية على انموذج فان دايك (2000) للأيديولوجية العنصرية. يستند اختيار الرواية إلى كونها تناقش ظاهرة العنف ضد النساء ،ستكشف الدراسة لاحقًا عن ماهية الأيديولوجيات القائمة عن النوع الإجتماعي للكتّاب، وما اذا كان الكاتب مناصر أو مناهض للحركة النسوية ؟ اي موضوعيًا أو ذاتيًا؟.
